A MEMORIAL OF PATRIOTISM.
A handsome public memorial to gallantry and patriotism was completed at Slough on Wednesday, when a tablet bearing the names of the Slough members of the Imperial Yeomanry and the Bucks Volunteers in South Africa was placed outside the Public Hall. The names are surmounted by the representation of a transport, and are flanked by a Yeoman on khaki and a Volunteer in full uniform.

(The Chester Courant, Wednesday 22nd August 1900)
